Jigsaw matches jobs and seekers for happy ending

Jigsaw, an LSC South Yorkshire recruitment and training programme is offering people who are out of work or in low skilled jobs the opportunity to establish a career in a high growth sector in the region.

Employers benefit too from the scheme which offers them the opportunity to take on extra staff and grow their business.

"A typical participant is a college or university leaver starting their career or someone looking to change or re-start their career. They have aptitude, skills and qualifications and a keen interest in the sector they want to enter," says Steve Richardson, Jigsaw's Programme Co-ordinator.

The programme is operated through colleges in South Yorkshire and is funded by the LSC South Yorkshire, Yorkshire Forward and the European Social Fund.

Ruth Schofield, Skills Development manager at the LSC South Yorkshire says: "The Jigsaw programme is a key initiative to the LSC's commitment to supporting individuals and companies to achieve their potential. It dovetails with the regional strategy to ensure a robust economy with a highly skilled workforce."
